Region images were reloaded in Kirov

In early December VI international academic and research conference in Public Relations Province+ took place under the motto “Public communications in the region: image reload”. The conference was held on the basis of Kirov division of St.Peterburg State University of Trade Unions with support of Gurov and Partners Communication Group.

Guests of the conference were able to visit presentations of Kirov specialists as well as specially invited experts. Participants of the plenary meeting summarized the decade of development of the Vyatka region.

The conference, that is recognized as the 3rd in Russia, gathered visitors from many regions from Yakutia to Lithuania. All of them were deeply interested in the main topic of the Conference: “How to make the region image more attractive for residents, investors and tourists”.

Well known Moscow guests willingly shared their expertise in this area. The head of the Political Consulting Center Nikkolo M Igor Mintusov spoke about the role of a governor in the region economy on the basis of example of the Kirov region governor Nikita Belikh. Former special correspondent of TASS and current political analyst and a president of Publicity communication holding Gay Khanov shared his experience in development of image of such cities as Kostroma, Kharkov and Volgograd. NTV channel television presenter and head of Mercator Group Andrey Skvortsov held a master class in infographics and RBC soft Chief Development Officer Andrey Yablonskikh and RBC soft deputy general director Maksim Molodtsov demonstrated the correct way of web-sites development and promotion of brands with new means of internet.

Within the two days of the conference it was not only well-known PR practitioners who shared their expertise, but also the visitors in their turn reported their success. The guests got to hear about such events as Asian and Pacific games “Children of Asia” held at the Sakha republic (Yakutia), Day of the Vyatka’s Cucumber; and learned how to create a forest Fairy Tale Reservation. And this is only few of the reports that were included into the two-days conference program. As a result of the event the participants singled out several items to pay special attention to. The region government should develop infrastructure projects allowing to expand business activity in the region, extensively use information resources aimed at development of a positive image in the public opinion of Kirov province as well as the whole region and propel the development of competitive environment.
